In 2020, as we begin a new decade, Dr. Sam Osmanagich and the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation are celebrating 15 years since the multidisciplinary investigations into the Bosnian Pyramids began. This year’s upcoming summer excavation season promises to be its most eventful yet, with active archaeological digs taking place across the pyramid valley, both above and below ground at the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon Bosnia, Vratnica Tumulus, Ravne Tunnel, Ravne3 Tunnel and newly discovered Ravne4 Tunnel.
In 2005, Bosnian-born anthropologist Dr. Sam Osmanagich announced to the world’s media his discovery that a group of hills in the vicinity of Visoko, a small town in central Bosnia, was completely must be hills which are actually the buried and forgotten Pyramids of both. majestic size and extreme age. The Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun, the largest of the Bosnian Pyramids, is estimated to be at least 300m (900ft) high. The Bosnian Pyramid of the Moon, although smaller at 190m (600ft) tall, is still over 50m (150ft) taller than the Great Pyramid of Giza.
Reactions to his announcement were diverse, with equal levels of excitement ranging from the enthusiastic to the esoteric regarding the world’s ancient pyramids. But there is skepticism from many people, including Bosnian locals, and despite the lack of any proper scientific investigation on their part, academics have roundly condemned the idea of maintaining a The model is collapsing.

Direct observations and anecdotal stories
When Dr. Osmanagich first made his claims to the world press, his pyramid hypothesis was initially based on a few direct observations;
That some hills in the local area of Visoko have four triangular faces.
The angles and slopes of the triangle’s faces are equilateral.
Like many other pyramids and megalithic sites around the world, the surfaces of these ‘hills’ are almost perfectly oriented towards the cardinal points, north, south, east, west.
The spatial arrangement of the three largest pyramidal ‘hills’ (the Sun, Moon and Dragon Pyramids) form an almost perfect equilateral triangle between their peaks.
The relative positions and heights of the Sun and Moon Pyramids create a shadow that marks the beginning of summer (Summer Solstice) and the transition to midsummer.
The photos show the interaction between the shadow of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun on the Bosnian Pyramid of the Moon. The image on the left shows that the shadow on the Summer Solstice matches the height of the Pyramid of the Moon, which in mid-summer moves to completely cover the pyramid (right). With these first-hand observations of Dr. Osmanagich came also countless anecdotal stories told to him by local people. Older generations will talk about how as children they used to play in the underground tunnels around Visoko. These tunnels later had their entrances blocked by authorities during the Yugoslav period. Knowing the connection between underground passages, hollow spaces (chambers) and most of the known ancient pyramids around the world, Dr. Osmanagich realized the importance of the stories told told in this locality and will soon embark on rediscovering and thereby confirming the existence of these underground tunnels.
2006: Excavations begin…
Beginning in 2006, Dr. Osmanagich would self-fund investigations into the Bosnian Pyramids to obtain experimental evidence supporting his controversial pyramid hypothesis. Using satellites, geo-radar, seismic surveys and topographic analysis, a total of five main sites were identified for initial investigation (later named the Pyramids of the Sun, Moon, Dragon, Love and the Temple of Mother Earth). Archaeological trenches have been excavated on all of these major sites and are supervised by Dr. Osmanagich and other experts in the fields of archaeology, geology and geophysics.

Along with surface excavation, core drilling is also carried out, with samples subjected to geochemical and material analysis by a number of specialized university departments worldwide. The results showed that the material is an artificially agglomerated geopolymer and that although it looks like natural stone, it has different mechanical and chemical properties from geological materials found locally. Durability tests showed it to be significantly stronger than both locally found concrete and even modern concrete.
The evidence obtained supported Dr. Osmanagich’s original hypothesis, that these hills under investigation were not just ordinary hills but had in fact, at least, been modified to resemble pyramids. tower or built entirely from scratch by a civilization. Great antiquity, unknown to the officially accepted historical version, used construction methods unknown to modern science.
Professor Dr. Khavroshkin and Professor Dr. Tsyplkov from the Schmidt Institute of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Moscow, conducted a seismic survey of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun and concluded that its seismic response matches with measurements they made during a similar survey at the Great Pyramid of Giza. Explore underground tunnels lost over time
Not long after the initial phase of the investigation began, Dr. Osmanagich found an entrance to an underground tunnel network that was later named the ‘Ravne Tunnels’. The entrance to these tunnels is located about 2.5km northwest of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun. At the time of discovery, the entrance was known to locals but was only suspected to be a small cave of no significance. Upon closer inspection, Dr. Osmanagich realized that at the back of the cave was a filled-in passage.

To explore the passages at the entrance to the Ravne Tunnel, Dr. Osmanagich began excavating the small cave. What was revealed was a shock to everyone, including local historians. It wasn’t simply that the tunnel entrance had been blocked recently. But it appears that the entire tunnel network, now known to run for thousands of metres, has been backfilled with debris, a daunting undertaking on such a large scale, it is almost inconceivable that it can be done unnoticed and recorded. by local people if it happened in recent historical era.
After only a few dozen meters of excavation, Dr. Osmanagich discovered many filled-in passages facing different directions, the intersections marked by simple but beautiful drywall works. They clearly show that the passages cut through the solid rock and their subsequent blockage were not the work of nature but were made by intelligent and purposeful hands.
As work continued and more of the tunnel network was cleared of rubble, allowing exploration of tunnels hundreds of meters long, further fascinating discoveries were made. The existence of rooms with many passages leading to them has been established, the stones have shapes and possibly pre-runic language engraved on them. Additionally, large megaliths clearly out of context with the surrounding geological material, now known as Megaceramics K1, K2 & K3 and the egg-shaped Monolith, were found.
