Then, they began to discover ditches and walls, revealing that what they found was not just a few artifacts but traces of an entire ancient town that once ruled Edinburgh thousands of years ago!
Archaeologist John Lawson (City of Edinburgh Council) said: “This is one of the most important ancient urban excavations ever carried out in Scotland. We have found everything we hoped for will be found in this excavation pit – where the archaeological date of the ark is 1,000 years old.”

According to him, this is just the beginning of the research. After excavating and bringing them to the archives to make room for the hotel to continue construction, scientists will study these antiques in detail. It is expected that Virgin Hotel will be inaugurated in 2021 instead of 2020 as expected.
