Shelter Polanka helps animals in trouble. We will dedicate several articles to animals, former wards of the shelter, who have managed to find happiness in this world.
In May, people in a neighbourhood began to notice a dog in the street. Everyone avoided it because the dog was large. One evening it was running down the street, and then it disappeared. The next day the dog was spotted again.
It was rushing back and forth, as if it had lost something, but could not find it. The poor dog could have continued to wander and rush around if people hadn’t found it and taken it to the Polanka shelter.
There the dog was named Marcus. It was examined, the necessary tests were done, and the dog’s fur was groomed and fleas were exorcised. In the end, Elena’s family took a liking to the adorable boy.
The dog was sent to Elena by a friend. And they fell in love. Immediately after the first face-to-face meeting, Elena realised that she could not leave the dog at the shelter. The woman was worried that the dog might not make friends with another four-legged creature at home or with the children, but it worked out fine.
The dog immediately proved to be a friendly and completely domesticated pet in the new place. Despite its large size, it behaves like a house dog.
It is very clever and charming. There is still work to be done, of course, in terms of behaviour, but Elena is sure they will get through it all. It has already learned how to give the paw!
