Jewelry stolen in Trump Tower

More than $350,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from two apartments in Trump Tower in New York, but there were no signs of break-in or ransacking.

Two thefts were reported to the New York City police department, USA, earlier this month and the investigation is underway, an anonymous source of the NY Post said yesterday. It is unclear whether both incidents were committed by the same thief, but officials suspect the culprit worked in the building.

One of the victims was a 67-year-old woman who lived on the 42nd floor of the building. She said five pieces of jeweled jewelry disappeared from a drawer in the closet. The total value of these assets is $236,000, including a diamond and emerald necklace and a diamond bracelet from luxury brand Harry Winston.

The woman added that a pair of earrings, a necklace and a ring, all with diamonds and sapphires, also disappeared between June 21 and September 9.

The second victim was Isabelle Bscher, owner of the Galerie Gmurzynska art gallery. She said her diamond bracelet worth $117,000 was stolen from her apartment on the 59th floor between September 4 and 9.

Investigators are compiling a list of all people with access to Trump Tower, including cleaners, contractors, and construction workers.

Trump Tower is a 202 meter high skyscraper with 58 floors, with many uses such as shopping centers, hotels and apartments. President Donald Trump owns a penthouse worth about 100 million USD in this tower.
