A large cache of gold and coins was found in the middle of a Polish field, believed to be a treasure that a nobleman reserved for his princess wife.
According to Express, the treasure includes 6,500 silver coins dating from the 11th and 12th centuries, along with some jewelry, the most special of which is a set of necklaces and gold wedding rings.
Dr. Adam Kedzierski from the Polish Academy of Sciences said that the legend of this princess’s treasure has been circulated among the people for a long time, with the story that it was buried at the intersection of three plots of land. . But they found it in a location near the main road. The process of determining the location took many years, but when finding clues, the archaeological team only spent 48 hours excavating. All the treasures are placed in a large pot.

It is estimated that the time the treasure was buried was around 1100 AD, meaning the owner was a medieval princess.
The jewelry shows the wealth of the owner, delicately carved and embedded with precious stones and gold beads. They also found some pieces of silver and lead in the treasure, but it is unclear what purpose they were created for.
One of the two wedding rings has an inscription in ancient Cyrilllic: “Lord, please help Mary, your maid.” This inscription makes archaeologists believe that the female owner is Zbyslawa, a foreign princess who was married to King Boleslaw Wrymouth, who ruled this land at that time. She has an older sister named Maria. They may have reburied the treasure before fleeing Poland during the political upheaval, but never had the chance to return.
