Boy discovers ‘treasure’ in girlfriend’s apartment

When moving things to his girlfriend’s apartment in Suzhou (China), the American boy discovered a drawer containing intricately carved gold and jade pendants.

Kendal Fortson, a composer and painter in Albuquerque (New Mexico state). Earlier this year, he moved to China and lived with his girlfriend Diana in an apartment in Suzhou.

On the day he moved in, Kendal used a video camera to send it to his parents and accidentally recorded the discovery of the treasure. That was when he intended to hang a picture on the wall and realized that the wooden panels against the wall were actually a cabinet and could be opened.

“No way. You can open it? But I don’t know. There’s something in there. What is it?” Diana’s girlfriend said in surprise in the video. She lived in this apartment for a year without knowing about the secret closet.

Nextshark reported that the couple went from one surprise to another. They pulled out a small tin box, inside there was a set of currency, worth about 46 million VND, 7 gold coins and a piece of jade like in old historical movies. The total value of the “treasure” is 15,000 USD (about 350 million VND).

“Luck fell from the sky, we had to celebrate,” Kendal said. The couple decided to enjoy this gift with a trip to Bali.
