A Hellenistic deity “Aion”, representing eternity (Early Roman period-30 СЕ).

This figure is one of the reliefs belonging to the Julius Zoilos Monument in the ancient city of Aphrodisias. Aion, as a term, was used in Greek to express eternal life. On the other hand the personification of this term, which appeared in the art of this period, was used to propagate the eternity of the Roman Empire. We see a excellent example of the personification of this concept in the Aphrodisias museum.
