Built a house, found a 9,000 year old “treasure hunter”.

Archaeologists in Wales (UK) have just unearthed a trove of elaborately crafted items, the most valuable possessions of hunters 9,200 years ago. Today, it is a great archaeological treasure.
The survey team from archaeological company Aeon Archeology claimed to have had “extraordinary luck” when they recovered a total of 314 artifacts in extremely good condition dating from 9,220 to 9,280 years old while digging in the surrounding area. Famous Rhuddlan ancient castle in Denbighshire county, Wales.

The land survey is to prepare for a new housing project. Although they suspected that the land might contain valuable antiques, they did not think they would find such a treasure trove of ancient objects.

According to Acient Origins, the “treasure” is a series of Stone Age hunter’s tools, crafted from flint and a hard form of sedimentary rock made up of quartz crystals. Large tools were created for purposes such as cutting meat or scraping animal skin; while some small and sharp blades called “microliths” can function as a multi-purpose knife. More specifically, it is a rather strange shaped tool that helps shape wood into useful items.

With the age and diversity of artifacts, it is a highly valuable archaeological treasure. According to the two archaeologists leading the research, Dr. Richard Cooke and Josh Dean, their owners considered this area a temporary hunting ground.

This discovery is second only to the great archaeological site of Nab Head, also in Wales, where up to 12,000 pieces of Paleolithic flint were discovered. The local government has issued a detailed plan to ensure that housing construction above will not affect any archaeological treasures.
